Kongur Shan, mantled by clouds, reaches 7719 m and is one of the highest peaks of the Pamir Mountains. The view shows active glaciers above about 5 km. The high-level alluvial terraces represent relicts of the former valley fill that is being incised as the Pamirs continue to rise. Current stream level is ~3500 m.
